Someone asked me the other day why I don't call myself a libertarian anymore.
My short reply was that because I realized I'm not a fucking sociopath.
(My slightly longer reply would be that I think there are a lot of libertarian thinkers and ideas that still deserve to be taken seriously, and that skepticism of state power is always a good thing, but that most "rank and file" libertarians are just looking for a philosophy that justifies being the complete assholes that they are anyway.)

so are you saying that's a good thing?
Libertarianism, to me, belongs on the same ash heap of history that Sovietism and fascism occupy.
But if you watch the whole video (I know, it's an hour and life's too short oh well) you will discover that nothing has changed.
