Excellent list. My add: your local chapter of the American Red Cross -- local chapters, contrary to a lot of misconceptions, don't get funding from the national American Red Cross, so they really need local support. Ninety-one cents of every buck donated goes to humanitarian services and programs (as opposed to admin). Thanks for the "post your cause here" space, RW

I always wonder about the reliability of charities, and what they actually spend their donation $'s on. See Wyclef Jean and his Haiti foundation.
